Brad Pitt to Star New Poker Movie “Cogan’s Trade”

Poker enthusiasts who have been disappointed to find that there are not many poker-related movies worth talking about other than “Rounder” are in for a big surprise! As a new crime comedy related to high-stakes poker might change the current situation, especially for Brad Pitt fans with a penchant for poker.

According to reliable sources, Brad Pitt will be starring this latest poker-relative movie, which is to include the appealing ingredients of comedy, poker, mafia, crime, investigation, and adventure and promises to be great entertainment for poker players who love the excitement of the high stakes tables.

Unfortunately, nothing much is known about the new movie, except that it will be entitled “Cogan’s Trade” and will be based on George V. Higgins’ crime novel. Pitt will play the role of Jackie Cogan, a professional enforcer, who tries to solve a robbery at a high-stakes poker game that takes place under the protection of the mafia. The director will be Andrew Dominik, who worked with Pitt on the movie “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” According to reliable sources, Dominik is trying to re-unite the Jesse James team for the new poker-related movie, owing to which Casey Affleck, who co-starred in Jesse James with Pitt, along with Sam Rockwell, Javier Bardem, and Mark Ruffalo, will also have certain roles to play in the new poker movie. The script has been written by Dominik.

“Cogan’s Trade” is an independent venture, whose finances have been put up by Inferno Entertainment. The producers will be Pitt Gardner and Dede Gardner of Plan B, Steve Schwartz of Chockstone, and Paula Mae Schwartz. The executive producers will be Bill Johnson of Inferno and Jim Seibel and the co-producer will be Roger Schwartz. Details are not known about when Pitt plans to start the filming of “Cogan’s Trade.”
